Back to School: Five Great Deals in the Community

Whether it’s your child’s first day or they’re an old pro, the back to school season can be quite costly. We’ve rounded up some of the best deals in the local areas to help you save money when you can.

  • Pearle Vision. New glasses can be very expensive and vision insurance is still not the norm across the board. Newton’s Pearle Vision offers a deal for free lenses when you buy children’s frame. Only until October 3rd!
  • Whole Foods. Stock up on all the snacks and treats for your child’s lunchbox at the grocery superstore’s Brighton or Washington Square locations. Organic juices, granola bars and gluten free bread are just some of the delicious foods on sale.
  • Village Kids. If you have a teenager or fashion obsessed little one, you know that back to school shopping is a must. The Newton Highlands children’s boutique is having a huge sale on summer clothing, so you can stock up for next year too!
  • New England Comics. With stores in both Allston and Coolidge Corner, New England Comics has a great sale on all graphic novels. There’s no better way to encourage a reluctant reader than with the beautifully illustrated and all-consuming graphic novel of his or her choice.
  • Magic Beans. Whether you’re rewarding good grades, in need of  a birthday present or just trying to master the art of distraction, new and exciting toys can be hard to find. The Coolidge Corner staple always has the best selection on sale for any age.
